In preparation for the 1992 Winter Olympics in nearby Albertville, France, Jean-Marie Pierret was commissioned for this tremendous painting. The Canvas is the huge Tignes Dam at 250x180 meters. The image of Hercules was divided into 260,000 20x20 centimeter squares to make the whole process somewhat manageable. 8 climbers were brought on to complete the project that was completed in 1992. Over the years the image has deteriorated and has definitely seen some better days, but still completely awesome!
