Astoria - The "Goonies" House

Astoria, Oregon has been used in a ton of movies over the past few years (Kindergarten Cop, Free Willy, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III), but by far the most well known is The Goonies. This was the main "Goonie" house used in the movie. From what I've heard the owners a few years ago didn't let people walk up the small dirt road to see it, but someone else bought it so you're allowed up there as long as you don't drive. Once you're done looking at the house, if you walk two blocks to 37th you can find Astor School which was used in Kindergarten Cop.

Directions and Additional Info:
From Commercial St/US-30 turn right onto 37TH, turn left onto Duane st, park and walk up Duane towards 38th, you'll see the dirt road on your left, walk up the dirt road. Please respect the homeowners and do not drive or park on the dirt road.

Comments

Yes... oh yes... I've been there twice over the past year.
If you're anysort of a fan of the movie Goonies, you'll apreciate this house. And if you're not a fan or you just haven't seen it, then go anyway for the view of Astoria.
Check my profile for my picture of this house, I'm jumping for joy... and then soon after I did the "Truffle-Shuffle."

"Hey chunk, do the truffle shuffle"

Thanks for the directions! I'll be going to Astoria in a couple weeks and doing the truffle shuffle in front of the Goonies house is on top of my list of things to do!
