PROJECT: TEAM WOOOOO TACKLES THE MONGOL RALLY!

NEW INFO: Team WOOO is now an OFFICIAL team, we've been confirmed for entry into the Rally.

Team WOOOOO is a team of two guys from Minneapolis, USA and Bristol, England. We want to join the Mongol Rally, which entails buying a car with a heart of gold and an engine primarily of rust, and driving it as far East as we can before it breaks into little pieces, ideally making it to the capitol of Mongolia, Ulaanbator. The purpose of this trip is twofold: to have an adventure the likes of which two boring white people have never seen, and to raise a bunch of money for charity. Although our adventure is still in the infancy of it's planning stages, we fully intend to go through with this in July of 2008, the next Rally. As the year rolls on towards the onset of our fateful journey, we'll be adding more to our web presence - we plan a blog detailing the process of preparation, as well as pictures of the unlucky(?) chaps participating and pictures of our chariot of steel, once we purchase it. We'll probably be open to suggestions on redecorating and naming the car, as well.

***NEW*** I've gotten approval to offer the following incentive: If we win this contest, all supporters' names will be written somewhere on the car! We can write your real name or your handle, whatever you prefer. It'll be scrawled on in sharpie, possibly illegibly, but you can say that you're a part of history (sort of)! Get it while it's hot!
How the prize money will be used: The Rally has a number of costs associated with it, as detailed by the official website, http://mongolrally.theadventurists.com/. The $1000 won't get us there itself, but it's a start. Some things we have to spend money on are the car itself, visas, insurance, supplies, a bit of food, and bribes, not to mention to actual costs of registration. If for whatever reason we don't end up going on the trip, the money will be donated to charity, probably the same ones that benefit from the Rally.
