PROJECT: UNIVERSITY OF IDAHO PAINTBALL

Paintball is the 3rd largest sport in the world. The Sporting Goods Manufacturer's Association estimates that over 10 million people play yearly in the United States alone. Insurance statistics show that paintball is one of the safest sports in existence, even more so than tennis! NO LIE! There are 105 Universities with paintball clubs/programs, more than 11,600,000 players worldwide, 16 major magazines and 220 US leagues and events (including the NCPA[National Collegiate Paintball Association] http://www.college-paintball.com/index.html)
Our project is to help support the Univ of Idaho paintball team/club to travel along the Western USA to major events and tournies. One being in Seattle which is held by the NCPA. Also it would go to possibly setting up a field for practice. It will also provide funding for paint and rentals for people who are interested in paintball but dont have the money to play. Many tournies and events are held outside of Idaho and that means TONS of traveling and adventures. Paintball itself is an adventure also.

How the prize money will be used: To support the Univ of Idaho paintball team/club's travel expenses. As in tourny fees, gas to travel to them, paint, hotel and food.

This would be an amazing project and would help the university in multiple ways.

since this is a new college club i believe that the funds would help it get off the ground. aswell as generating more recognition for the school

This would be freaking Awesome Man.

This course would be so awesome to have on campus!! it would make it so much better for practice.

That seems like it would be a lot of fun if it gets done

So would the field be open just to the team or would the public be able to use it?

It would be open to both.

so as far as equipment goes what would we be able to rent or buy at the field?

we are hoping to eventually get rental equipment but at least to start we would let people borrow our extra stuff

i think that this would be a great addition to the University of Idaho's campus, and since our current Paintball team/club has to spend their own money to go all the way to Lewiston to play, it would greatly benefit their team, and would allow them to practice with ease.

This is a great idea. I think yall should start this as a school sport.

would people be allowed to come watch your paintball events?

of course we can put up bleachers and such for people to watch from

hope you guys get this... would be super cool. i'll prob come and watch.

This would be excellent. A great idea and incentive for the univ. would be to make a 5 man indoor course that would be open during the winter and summer. That way they could have walk ons who would pay like 10 dollar field fee to play or students can play for free if they buy air and paint. Paintball is a HUGE sport and i believe if this got enough publicity it would launch.

I agree with diewithme, plus paintball is fun to watch and play, also paintballers are hot ;)

My friend and I were just talking about this. I think it would be a great investment for whoever would put up funding for it.

ok dudes, jan 15th is coming up... and we need way more points damnit. a effing bike trip is in first...wtf that doesnt need 1000 dollars. spam this shit!!!

This is the best idea and lou-dog is right...first is a damn bike trip? Come on. Been paintballing for 8 years love it to death and would love to see it at U of I.

I think that this would be a great addition to the school. plus, i agree with Pooter. Paintballers are hot. ;)

i cant wait for it to happen ive been itching to play since i got here

ya dude i know what you mean. ive beeen advertising this shit so hard.

woot i brought in like 5 people...we need more :(

I think this would be good for the school and give people a chance to try something different.

Come on guys we only have to get into the top 10

So louie im kinda lazy and dont wanna look up if you mentioned this earlier. what kind of surface would you be playing on? Turf or Grass? Turf is sooooo hot i love it, going into the snake is wayyyyyyy too easy. And im just not convinced yet that i want to go to U of I. And my marq is Dirty i have to clean her :(.

L
OL. well turf is very spendy so i doubt it will be turf. If the school funds us more then definitly. but doubt it.

ugh your a noob louis. lol kidding, but if you had the appropriate funding turf wouldnt be too bad. Before i left VA their plans for turf was really cheap (considering they are tightasses) and would this be inside or out? If out i suggest a circus tent. That way you can play year round. Again. If you get the appropriate funding, not too expensive. And if you had a year round field that was big enough for 7 man formats, and turf, i would drive down in a heartbeat to paly. you would be bringing in so much money. Trust me, ive discussed it with people and to VA. They wont listen. i hope you do. . . instant success.

OH i totally agree. thats why paintball is Soooooooo popular on the east coast. when i lived in florida they even had indoor, turf fields for when it rained people can still play. every goddamn weekend 30+ people at the field paying field fees and buying paint. they had to be making bank.

Exactly but thats what you gotta do, bring it to the Northwest. You would be the first ones, the hype would be huge you would get ppl from all over. It would be tits. . . ahhhh louie remember the good ol adventure city days when i was using my icon adn you had your automag.

lol ya it was way to intense. we need that here :(

So i started thinking. I think i might try to join the Vandals for a semester. . .give it a shot. haha get it. Shot.

good. btw we are now in 12th lol only 2 to go

she's right. we are almost there.

Paintball rocks....
