About Me: i have been traveling for evah! it started with those damn Sunday drives my Dad always took us on...and i didn't get them at the time...they were mostly annoying, and i always got carsick...but now, of course i do get them. i understand. they were about going...just going anywhere...to go...get away...to see what was out there...wherever "there" was....beyond the horizon...and then my folks took me to Europe, England and France when I was 14...and that was pretty damn cool. yah, I liked that. a LOT. i really got the travel bug in my blood then...and it never left....and I have been madly in love with it..just having a downright salacious affair with it... from the very first time I hit the road...just a few years out of college....four months in Europe backpacking on my own....just a girl....in the wild blue yonder of Europe...it was awesome....beyond awesome... only weeks before...i'd met a boy at a party...he told me about the 10 weeks he'd just spent in Spain...and I thought that sounded pretty cool...i kind of got butterflies in my stomach just listening to him talk about the warm breezes in the evenings and late night suppers and sangria...it was like i was there...wherever there was...this place... called Spain...and just a week later..seven days.. with a one way ticket, a backpack, a Eurail pass, a youth hostel card, and a "Let's Go Europe"...I found myself in the middle of London...and then...Paris... Munich...Austria...Florence...Athens...Crete....I was so all over that....it was...utterly....life-changing..... and... that's how I popped my first big travel cherry...and it was like heroin to me. and then I came home...and needed to feed my habit...my next trip...i knew it was always going to be this way...coming home from one trip...and wanting to...no, needing to immediately plan the next one... and so...economic necessity dictated that i become a successful silicon valley something or other...and i worked my ass off for a period of time...and made some money...so I could travel. That's all it was ever about. The money...was to fund the habit. And so now....I play...and I keep on travellin...and I moved to Boise about five years ago...left the crowded (cough-cough) Silly Valley behind...and i am about to graduate from nursing school in a few weeks (yah, went back to school for another degree)...and i'm going to (big surprise) Europe again in may...for a month...or two...to play...and hang out...and see a Stones concert...mhmmm....and then...I will be a "travel nurse"...yah, that's where they pay you to travel to exotic places and do nurse-like things to sick people.
